Sustainability

The European larch is characterized by its rapid growth, making it an ecologically more sustainable raw material. Its positive energy balance during processing, combined with the possibility of recycling it or biologically decomposing it at the end of its lifecycle, makes it an extremely environmentally friendly choice.

Larch wood

Larch is classified as a hard coniferous wood and is characterized by its longevity and weather resistance. The pale reddish sapwood is distinctly separated from the heartwood, which can range from yellowish to reddish. The structure is straight-grained, and the annual ring patterns are very clearly visible. The high resin content makes the wood stable and ensures that it warps very little.

Versatility

Larch wood can be well treated with any method and with any material after removing any resin spots, whether opaque or translucent. Due to its beautiful color and structure, colorless or lightly pigmented stains that enhance the wood are suitable. The processing of both fresh and dry wood can be done quickly and gently on tools, using both machine and hand techniques. The fewer large knots present, the better the wood can be peeled or worked with a knife. Pre-drilling is also recommended here. Larch wood is versatile and is well-suited for gardens, landscape and furniture construction, as well as for window and door frames or flooring.

You should avoid that

The wood contains water-soluble, washout substances. In damp wood, iron metals can lead to discoloration of the wood, and corrosion of the fastening materials cannot be ruled out.
