Quality
The construction of laminated beams, also known as glue-laminated timber, is done by gluing together at least three dried oak boards. This method ensures freedom from warping, as the stresses within the board layers are balanced. Untreated strips are particularly visually appealing, as the natural charm of the wood remains completely intact. Careful selection of the wood is crucial for the quality of our products. We place particular emphasis on characteristic growth features such as knots and cracks to ensure that we use only the best material. Additionally, each individual wood strip undergoes thorough visual inspection by our qualified professionals during production. We ship our products across Europe and adhere to high-quality standards.
Sustainability
Oak wood is an environmentally friendly and sustainable resource, as oak trees grow slowly and only need to be harvested every few decades. Furthermore, the use of laminated wood allows the wood to be used more efficiently, which further promotes resource optimization.
Oak wood
Oak wood is known for its beautiful grain and natural color, which varies from light to dark brown depending on the type of processing. Even after years, the wood retains its flawless condition and develops a fascinating patina over time. Oak is characterized by its high strength and durability. The wood has a light to medium brown coloration and features a uniform grain. Oak wood is highly weather-resistant and can even be used untreated outdoors, as it is resistant to worm and fungal infestations. Thanks to its high fracture strength and durability, it is an ideal construction wood. Oak wood can be easily painted, stained, or varnished.
Stability
By combining several layers of oak wood through gluing, a highly stable material is created that surpasses solid wood in this regard. The use of this material in furniture, flooring, and constructions offers numerous advantages, as it is less susceptible to deformation, cracks, and warping. Particularly noteworthy is the unique method of gluing, which utilizes only continuous laminations and forgoes finger-jointed material.
Versatility
Oak laminates offer a wide range of applications, from furniture and doors to stairs, flooring, and ceiling cladding. The handling of the wood is extremely simple and can be transformed into a variety of attractive appearances by applying stains or varnishes. Thanks to the moisture-resistant bonding, this product is equally suitable for use indoors and outdoors.
You should avoid that
The contact between iron metals and wet oak wood should definitely be avoided, as this can lead to unsightly black-blue discolorations and rust formation. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid strongly alkaline adhesives, as they can also leave stains on the wood. Furthermore, it is recommended to pre-drill before using nails or screws in oak wood to prevent splitting of the material.
