The wood is characterized by its light, uniform brown-pink to yellowish color. The grain is also very even. Older trees can be recognized by their reddish core. The surface of beech is very hard and dense, making it particularly suitable for heavily used furniture like dining tables or dressers.

The beech is known for its exceptional hardness and density, making it the ideal choice for heavily used furniture pieces such as dining tables, dressers, doors, parquet flooring, and stairs. Despite its robustness, beech wood is easy and precise to work with, which makes it very popular among craftsmen. For outdoor use, beech wood should definitely be treated with suitable wood preservatives to ensure weather resistance.

The beech tree is also excellently suited for the production of knife and veneer peeling and is used in boat construction, as it bends particularly well after steaming. This combines aesthetic demands with functional diversity – a material that excels in every area.

You should avoid that

Beech wood should not be used untreated outdoors, as it is not very resistant to fungi or pests. Cracks can also quickly develop during drying, so the wood should be waxed or oiled when used outside. Beech wood can be easily painted, stained, or varnished. Additionally, when using nails or screws with beech, pre-drilling is recommended, as it is prone to splitting.
