Each wooden nail undergoes a visual inspection by our experienced specialists during the manufacturing process. Sustainability

The European larch is characterized by its rapid growth and thus represents a more ecologically sustainable raw material. Its positive energy balance during processing, combined with the ability to either recycle or biologically decompose it at the end of its life cycle, makes it an extremely environmentally friendly choice.

Oak Wood

The larch belongs to the category of hard softwoods and is characterized by its durability and weather resistance. The pale reddish sapwood is distinctly separated from the heartwood, which can vary from yellowish to reddish hues. The structure is straight-grained, and the growth ring patterns are clearly visible. The high resin content makes the wood stable and ensures that it warps little.

Versatility

Wooden nails are still a popular fastening option, as they have several advantages over metal fasteners. Especially outdoors, iron-based fasteners and fittings often cause discoloration in the wood. When using components and fasteners made from different materials, the swelling and shrinking behavior of the wood can also become a problem that would not occur with wooden nails. In contrast to metal fasteners, wooden nails also have better electromagnetic properties. If the wooden structure is regularly exposed to acids, bases (e.g., salt), oxidizing agents, or gases (e.g., chlorine or ozone), wooden nails offer the additional advantage of being nearly corrosion-free. In the event of a fire, wooden nails exhibit better fire protection properties than iron-based fasteners. The interplay of aesthetics and function, as well as the ecological aspects of wooden nails, are further benefits.

Application

To ensure optimal application, a hole is first pre-drilled, with a diameter or cross-section that precisely matches that of the wooden nail. This is followed by driving the nail in with a hammer, creating a stable connection. Wooden nails find diverse applications, particularly in pure wood-to-wood connections, the renovation of roof trusses, and the construction of timber frames.
