Quality
The construction of laminated beams, also known as glue-laminated timber, is done by gluing together at least three dried oak boards. This method ensures freedom from warping, as the stresses within the board layers are balanced. Untreated strips are particularly visually appealing, as the natural charm of the wood remains completely intact. Careful selection of the wood is crucial for the quality of our products. We place particular emphasis on characteristic growth features such as knots and cracks to ensure that we use only the best material. Additionally, each individual wood strip undergoes thorough visual inspection by our qualified professionals during production. We ship our products across Europe and adhere to high-quality standards.
Sustainability
The beech is one of the most widespread deciduous trees in Germany. Since this type of wood is locally sourced, it has a positive environmental balance.
Beech wood
The beech wood is characterized by its bright, uniform brown-pink to yellowish coloration. The grain is also very even. The surface of the beech is very hard and dense, making it particularly suitable for heavily used furniture such as dining tables or dressers. Despite its high hardness, it can be worked easily and cleanly. However, in outdoor areas, beech wood should be treated with wood preservatives, as it is not very weather-resistant otherwise.
Stability
By laminating several layers of beech wood together, an extremely stable material is created, which is superior to solid wood in this regard. The use of this material in furniture, flooring, and constructions offers numerous advantages, as it is less susceptible to deformation, cracks, and warping. Notably, the unique method of lamination utilizes only continuous laminates and avoids finger-jointed materials.
Versatility
Beech glue-laminated wood offers a wide range of applications, from furniture and stairs to flooring and ceiling paneling. The handling of the wood is extremely easy and can be transformed into a variety of appealing finishes by applying stains or varnishes. Thanks to its stable structure and extreme hardness, durable and sturdy furniture for indoor use can be made from beech wood, such as dining tables or dressers. When working with screws and nails, pre-drilling is advisable due to the high density and hardness. To maintain the color, beech wood should also be treated with UV-blocking agents indoors. It is recommended to use beech glue-laminated beams exclusively for indoor applications.
You should avoid that
Beech wood should not be used untreated outdoors, as it is not very resistant to fungi or pests. Cracks can also quickly develop during drying, which is why the wood should be waxed or oiled when used outside. Beech wood can be easily painted, stained, or varnished. Additionally, when using nails or screws with beech wood, pre-drilling is recommended, as it is prone to splitting.
