With the right cutting, regular and large-scale fiber deviations occur, which are very popular in veneers. Mahogany is one of the finest woods and is noted for its remarkable resistance to fungal and pest infestations. Furthermore, it also demonstrates high dimensional stability under various environmental factors, such as fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

Versatility

Mahogany wood is particularly popular in furniture manufacturing as well as for the construction of frame structures, windows, doors, paneling, and veneers. Thanks to its excellent processing properties, high resistance to fungi, and outstanding dimensional stability under changing weather conditions, this material is also highly sought after in boat building. Its versatile technical properties allow for applications in nearly all areas of woodworking, thus opening up numerous possibilities for creative and functional solutions. However, it is advisable to use transparent, clear, satin, or high-gloss finishes to preserve the natural color. For outdoor use, stains are best suited. Additionally, screws, nails, and glue hold very well in the wood.

You should avoid that

Mahogany should preferably not be used without a surface treatment, as color and shine will only emerge after proper care. Additionally, it can develop a gray discoloration in outdoor areas due to weather exposure.
